Had a great time at Cafe De Leche (5000 York Blvd 90042 in Highland Park) last night, telling a story in the “Porchlight Storytelling Series.” Really nice people. A great crowd. Some excellent Coffee.
May was a weird & difficult month in a lot of ways. I had to deal with some unexpected hassles that had me re-examining a whole range of “this, THIS is how I choose to spend my time, my life, or at the very least my evenings?!!” issues… but it is interesting how evenings like last night come along juuust when you really need them – reaffirming your faith in some of the choices you’ve made for yourself.
…so today I’m heading out-of-town for a few days of much-needed scenery change (of course I’ll be bringing my laptop, so’z I can get some work done.) …and then I’ll be back, recharged and ready to face the double-fisted month of June.
Meanwhile, some updates:
>> The latest Blunt Farce cartoon (“Bud Fallbrook” episode 2) has sailed past 12,000 views in about 3 weeks, with a definite upward spike in views all across Europe. Now starting pre-production on Episode 3.
>> I should have the 1st draft of my latest feature project finished within 2 weeks… ok, maybe 3 weeks.
So far, I’m booked to do two “readings” shows in the month of May. This week I’ll be telling a story at bang. as part of the monthly ‘Pinata’ show, and on the 27th I’ll be rolling East to Highland Park to tell a story (or two) at the monthly ‘Porchlight’ reading series. I’m very excited about both shows.
